Impact Initiatives
Although Paper Seed Studios is first and foremost a media company, we believe that community impact initiatives are vital in order to inform and strengthen our educational media work.
The initiatives below reflects Paper Seed Studios’ commitment to education-led impact beyond commissioned work and also allowed us to ground our work in real educational contexts and increased our understanding of how environmental knowledge are received by young audiences.
Paper Seed Book Club
The Paper Seed Clubhouse and Book Club was a learning initiative in partnership with Pusat Tuisyen Pendidikan Cemerlang in Kelantan, Malaysia in 2025 was developed as a pilot space for environmental literacy, reading, and creative learning.
It functioned as a testing ground for educational approaches, storytelling formats, and environmental content to be later developed into media resources.
The Paper Seed Clubhouse was a space filled with engaging books and fun boardgames in which students were allowed to borrow and play games on a self-check out basis. This encouraged trust as well as pride in their own ability to care for and enjoy materials provided without adult intervention.
The clubhouse also was set up by incorporating all of what Paper Seed Studios hopes to embody which was the use of existing materials that were updated and up-cycled. The room initially had just had its roof replaced to a zinc roof but lacked a ceiling. We installed radiant barriers to prove that something so simple and easily installed without professional help could lower the temperature as well as reduce the noisy sound from heavy rain. The bookshelves used to display books and games were taken from all around the premise and were given a new lease of life through paint and from the clever use of cheap wallpaper. Plants were added because no space is complete without it. Plants give life to any space and has been proven to reduce stress. A self check out system allowed students to borrow books themselves.
The result was an environmentally friendly place that the children enjoyed.

In Our Jungle Live Story telling
In Our Jungle
“In Our Jungle” is an educational storytelling project developed by Paper Seed Studios to communicate conservation concepts to young audiences using evidence-based content and sustainable design.
A live set made out of recycled cardboard was used during story telling at the Raja Tun Uda Library in Shah Alam to a captivated and interested audience.
The story is about the Malayan Tiger. The story telling session was followed by a Terrarium making workshop.
In Our Jungle is in the process of being turned into a book and animated short film.
