Ferns and Moss Are All Around Us
Pyrrosia piloselloides, a type of fern is climbing up a tree.
It was estimated that about 10500-11300 of the fern species have been described and 1165 species were recorded in the tropical rainforest of Malaysia (Ferns of Malaysian Rain Forest, A Journey Through The Fern World, Professor Dr. Umi Kalsom Yusuf.)
While at a playground in the middle of the an urban park, we noticed the abundant moss and ferns flourishing on the many trees. They were beautiful in all kinds of shades of green. So are they good or bad for the host tree?
